On Easter Saturday, Blackpool Sixth Form hosted EcoFest 2010, our family event promoting eco-friendly ideas organised by EcoAction students.
The event also welcomed visitors from our partner school in Turkey to the Sixth Form, who are currently on an exchange visit as part of an EU supported project focused on Climate Change.
To mark the occasion, the two principals planted a tree at the front of the Sixth Form, which is pictured below.
Visitors at the event enjoyed circus skills with Blackpool Circus School, creative activities with Grumpy and Owl and Hawk flying displays with Turbury Woods, Owl and Hawk Sanctuary (pictured below).
Students from the Sixth Form also arranged fun activities for children including an Easter Egg Hunt, Hook-a-duck and hand painting wall.
At the event artwork from two competitions which local primary schools have participated was displayed. Hundreds of primary school students entered our Eco-Accessorise and Easter Egg Colouring Competitions.
Head of Admissions and EcoAction group organiser Jon McLeod commented, "It was great to see so many primary schools taking part in our EcoFest competitions. We would like to thank everyone for entering and a special thank you to all the schools that took part."
